Patricia Leroux –
Patricia Leroux was born in Roubaix in 1955, in a family of artists. Very soon she started painting alongside her father, a painter and sculptor. At first, she did not think she would make painting her profession, but nonetheless studied art at the Hertford, Paris and Lille Schools of Art, worked as a trainee for a master sculptor and potter, attended a school of mural art …and travelled (Martinique, New Caledonia, Bali, Tahiti, the Marquesas Islands, etc.).
Professional since 1993, Patricia Leroux brings out all the insular beauty and rhythm in her paintings. In an explosion of colours, her paining is generous, sensual and fanciful. Her work is expressive, recounting everyday life, nourished by moods and sentiments, the vibrations of the earth.
Patricia Leroux constantly experiments with new techniques, new materials, oil, acrylic, collage, oil stick, gold leaf, sand…Anything goes: brushes, knives, fingers…
She has fun in a whirlwind of always circular forms.
