The artist's biography
Les Aviatrices (the women pilots) – VINCENT
Vincent was born on 10 August 1974 in Aurillac, in the Cantal, with a felt pen in his hand and “tiny wings” in his mind. He dreamt of becoming a professional pilot, but this dream was nipped in the bud by an ophthalmologic diagnosis. Vincent discovered André Franquin, Victor Hubinon and Jean-Michel Charlier (the latter two being cartoon artists and pilots!) in his father’s old Spirou albums; and the felt pen supplanted the “tiny wings”. Vincent returned to aviation through his drawing. What better way than aerial location searches to approach people and incredible machines, fly and hang around in hangars!!!
An expert in 3D computer graphics, modelling and animation, in 2002/2003 Vincent produced his first cartoon plates in the fanzine Le Cochon Dingue and the review Expérimental. In 2004 he produced monthly cartoon and illustration plates for the review Aviasport, which continues to feature his work. In 2005 he became a full-time cartoonist.
